Russell D. Hoffman Calls NPR with a complaint

EXAMPLES IN THE ART OF COMPLAINING

NPR Report incomplete

In early December, 1993 Richard Harris reported on National Public Radio that "...NASA fired its jets to move safely away from the newest piece of space junk..."

Boy, did I get fired up over that headline! I called "NPR" and made the following comment:

"This report was incomplete. It should of included that this adds one large 25,000 MPH deadly projectile to the 10,000-odd pieces NASA already tracks, until it gets hit by something and breaks into thousands more, and that it will fly around for probably thousands and maybe millions of years, and that NASA's best, safest, and easiest chance to bring it home was right then."

I don't remember if they played my comments on the air or not, but I hope it at least got back to Richard Harris...
