You win when...
A poem by Russell D. Hoffman

When you let them pick the battles, thus avoiding the real issues,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you turn away from the battle that confronts YOU, even when it wasn't the battle you expected to be fighting when you started,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you don't question their motives, even when what they are doing doesn't seem right to you,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you trust them, even when their actions seem unwise, unfair, or just plain illogical,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you hold some people above suspicion, and make the assumption that you are a perfect judge of character,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you turn a blind eye to the possibility that they have infiltrated your organization, as if it could never happen to YOU,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you give up, ever, in your search for the whole truth,
you let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
Don't let them win.
* * * * * * * * *
When you remain true to your beliefs,
you win.
When you earnestly keep questioning yourself, trying to prove yourself wrong,
you win.
When you correct your previous errors,
you win.
When you figure it out for yourself instead of relying on others,
you win.
When you tell others what you have learned,
you win.
When you convince even one other person to carry on the fight,
you win.
When you convince even one of those who opposed you to cease fighting,
you win.
