Dear Readers,
Dr. Richard E. Webb, who, through diligent mathematical preparation and detailed technical testimony in numerous court cases, may be responsible for stopping the construction of more nuclear power plants than anyone in history (and who would like to stop the rest), and who is also the author of The Accident Hazards of Nuclear Power Plants (Univ. of Mass. Press, 1975, 1976, ISBN 0-87023-210-X), has asked me to send out his request for IMMEDIATE shelter, which follows (written by Jim Duffy, with a correction note from Dr. Webb).
Financial contributions directly to Dr. Webb would also be extremely helpful.
I hope some of my readers will be able to assist him, or know someone who can.
Sincerely,
Ace Hoffman

Note: Three of the documents referred to below were included in the email to me from Dr. Webb, and have been converted to "pdf" format and posted online here:

Dr Richard Webb is a US nuclear physicist currently living in Germany. He has examined safety risks in AGR reactors and health effects of low dose radiation. He says both are worse than we are led to believe.
Recently he tried to take the Federal German Government to court due to their involvement in the Iraq war. So Germany has told him he's unwelcome.
He has to leave by 30th April or will lose his lifetime accumilated documents and those on computer when they exile him.
He plans to come to the UK for 3 months while he completes a piece of work, then return to the US.
Can anyone accomodate him? He needs two rooms to fit 4 computers and 80 boxes of papers. He has a small sponsorship but not enough to rent at commercial rates.
If you can help please ring me at

Subject: Physicist seeks shelter -- Richard Webb offers a correction
Dear Jim Duffy,
Thank you so much for your concern and your help by your "Physicist seeks shelter." I am obliged to correct a wrong impression that I gave you in my long call to you. I did not try to take the German Gov't to court due to their involvement in the Iraq War. I did mentions court actions by me, and I think the enormity of all of the many different things had to have confused you with too many objects that I threw in your view. So, the error is my cause.
I have registered my criticisms of the German Government for assisting and supporting the U.S. in attacking Iraq by letting the U.S. attack using military bases in Germany. These criticisms are contained in several letters that I have included in the CDs that I have sent you, under the file named "Essays on the United States Constitution." directly to that government in many letters, and my CDs that I sent to the German Government ministries, including the foreign office in Augsburg who has acted to expel me. I am attaching a small sample. The whole of my essays on the U.S. Constitution are on the CDs that I have sent you, being only a part; for most of the CDs is devoted to the nuclear accident hazards. On CD No. 2 is a file "AGR-Hinkley Evidence". That is the one you are immediately interested in, I think.
I did mentioned to you a suit that I brought in the Land Court in Hamburg, but it is a suit against Greenpeace-Germany. (Not to be confused with Greenpeace UK). The CD No. 2 contain my Complaint (in English), which declares the several libels published against me by privileged German societies, German nuclear companies, German newspaper in Munich, and German Government ministries. I am attach the last section of that complaint that relates to my constitutional law work in opposition to the U.S. Government war-makings. But you will have the full complaint in the file folder, titled, "Suit against Greenpeace." Much of the German State (Government ministries and German Courts) have published false statements about my nuclear hazards analyses. This all will be clear by the 2 CDs that I am sending. There is one essay of mine that compares the method of the German nuclear licensing hearing board with the British Hinkley Point C Public Inquiry. Please do read that essay. May I recommend to you a short correction to your letter. The correction would be, not that I tried to bring a suit about the war, but that I criticized the German State opening on their nuclear power policies, about their assistance and support of the U.S. in attacking Iraq, and about the German courts refusing to admits my various libel suit in the German courts -- a suit to obtain justice for the harms done to my reputation by false statements published about my work for the purpose of discrediting my scientific analyses and evaluations of the accident hazards of nuclear power plants.
Sincerely yours,
Dick Webb
