Rochelle Becker

 

Rochelle Becker has been a member of the San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace for 28 years.  The organization is all volunteer and has for over 33 years been the leaders in addressing safety concerns at the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant before local, state and federal agencies. 

 

Rochelle is the Mothers for Peace  www.mothersforpeace.org spokesperson and has testified before the California Public Utilities Commission, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the California Energy Commission the Regional Water Quality Control Board and Congress.  News articles on nuclear issues in California often site the efforts of the San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace. 

 

Rochelle has also worked with organizations on safety issues on the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) and is currently working with California Earthcorps on their filing to address the safety concerns of replacing steam generators at the nuclear plant.

 

When not working directly on nuclear power safety concerns, Rochelle has helped to guide the board of directors of The Utility Reform Network (TURN) on issues that affect our state?s utility customers.
